Are people more crazy today or is it just the world giving them a voice?
Stupidity, cultishness or something else?
I started writing this a few days ago, but my thoughts have changed as the riots spread around the UK. Seeing so many people, who all look and sound alike, smash up shops, burn libraries and loot goods in the name of ‘patriotism’ should make me presume that they are all morons who just like a good fight.
However, maybe there is more to this and just maybe it is history repeating itself.
Look at Hitler.
Look at Trump.
The latter is obviously only out for himself, is incapable of leading a country and has the morals of a sewer rat, but the cult that follows him remains strong and the number of people who will vote for him is worryingly large.
This is how the likes of Nigel Farage can stay just on the side of not saying the exact words to incite violence, but they know full well what they are doing. They know that they are leading people who are not particularly bright to do their bidding for them and to make them believe that their problems are down to foreigners and not themselves.
Brexit was pushed as the EU causing individuals to not have as much as others and 52% of people lapped it up, and took us out. The billions lost since then does not matter because they have moved on to blaming 46,000 people who have come over in boats. Don’t worry about the 100,000’s we needed to come over last year because of Brexit, or the ageing population, blame the brown people and smash things up.
Ultimately, every population has a certain percentage of people who are of no benefit to their countries and who are prone to vote for whatever fits (10-15%?) and it just so happens that we have not had people looking to take advantage of that for a few decades.
Sadly, they are back and more powerful than ever, but something tells me that the other 85% will just become stronger in their resolve and that things will work out OK in the end.
