Nothing could prepare me for the online war

The above, written by Christina Lamb, was all it took for a tirade of online abuse to follow. It highlights the tightrope journalists and public figures have to walk on just to get by without continual criticism and threats of violence. I can't see a way around this because the balance is skewed far too much towards the vile keyboard warriors who can say whatever they like without fear of any repercussions.
