Photographing watches: light matters

I was recently advised that light is all important when trying to photograph small intricate objects such as watches and so I decided to spend a massive £13.99 on the POLAMD Portable Photo Studio.

It comes with as a simple yet sturdy foldable box with mini lights running either side at the top. Plug it in via the included micro-USB cable and adjust the brightness as required. Also included is a set of coloured backings that help to diffuse any shadows and the end results have been great for me so far. Using an iPhone 11 Pro I have come up with the following so far-
