Starfield is like Pong all over again
I watched my son play Starfield earlier this week and it took about 2 minutes for me to grab a chair and marvel at what was happening in front of me. The game is immense, beautifully rendered and offers a sense that you are a mere blip in a very big space.
The feeling it gave me came back from approx 45 years ago when I first played Pong. It felt incredible that I could play a game like this indoors and that feeling never left me.
It wasn't about the graphics, which still amazed me which is hard to believe when you look above, it was the feeling. The sense of something new from the future that would change how I feel about gaming / technology in the future. I didn't expect Starfield to give me that feeling, but I am slightly jealous that my son gets to explore a huge world while all I had was a paddle and a square ball to play with.
