The Apple TV is finally worth buying
I have always viewed the Apple TV, the hardware option, to be overpriced compared to the competition. The Fire Sticks in particular offer much of the functionality for a fraction of the price and even Sky Stream can compete with ease while adding terrestrial TV (at a monthly cost).
And then we tried the Apple TV 4K and were instantly sold on the £150 asking price. Besides the decent performance and intuitive software setup, the ability to easily use our HomePod for audio and to further utilise our Apple One subscription made me realise that the Apple ecosystem is hard to escape from and that the further you dive in, the more you get from it.
My wife sold her iPad as she only uses it for Fitness+ which works much better on the Apple TV and so we ended up in profit. Apple Arcade games work well on the larger screen and you can connect most game controllers, and of course there is the ability to access our library of purchased films and TV shows, which Apple has limited on many other devices. That's the Apple way!
Overall the Apple TV is a no-brainer if you have a few Apple products and services and it could easily become the hub for your Apple setup if you take the time to use it properly. I will never escape Apple and at this time I really don't want to.
